Company Description

Kitwave Wholesale Group is a UK-based group of Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) delivered wholesale companies, focusing on ambient and frozen products such as confectionery, crisps and snacks, soft drinks, grocery, vending products, frozen goods, alcohol, and tobacco. The business serves independent retail, wholesale, national retail, vending, and foodservice markets, offering a broad and dynamic customer base.

Kitwave supports approximately 46,000+ customers from 37 nationwide depots, ensuring extensive coverage and reliable service. With a fleet of around 650 delivery vehicles and a direct salesforce of about 300 people, the group provides a fast-paced working environment with opportunities to contribute to efficient, high-volume operations.

Role Description

The Payroll Administrator is full-time, based in our Peterlee or North Shields office. This role is responsible for processing end-to-end payroll operations, including validating timesheets, inputting and updating employee data, and ensuring accurate calculation and timely payment of salaries.

The Payroll Administrator will manage payroll deductions, benefits, garnishments, and taxes, and respond to employee payroll queries in a professional and timely manner. Day-to-day tasks include:

  • Reconciling payroll reports
  • Maintaining payroll records
  • Liaising with HR and finance teams
  • Supporting compliance with relevant legislation and company policies

The role also involves assisting with payroll audits, improving payroll procedures, and contributing to continuous process efficiency within the payroll function.

Qualifications

  • Strong skills in Payroll Administration, including end-to-end processing and maintenance of accurate payroll records.
  • Knowledge of Garnishments and Payroll Taxes to ensure correct handling of deductions and statutory obligations.
  • Experience with Employee Benefits administration, including integrating benefits with payroll and supporting benefit-related queries.
  • Foundational Accounting skills to assist with reconciliations, reporting, and alignment between payroll and finance systems.
  • Relevant experience in payroll within a medium to large organization, preferably in FMCG, wholesale, or distribution environments.
  • Strong attention to detail, numerical accuracy, and proficiency with payroll software and spreadsheet tools.
  • Effective communication skills, with the ability to handle confidential information and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Formal training or qualification in payroll, finance, or a related field is beneficial; professional payroll certifications are an advantage.
