About The Role
We are currently seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Payroll Advisor to join our client's established manufacturing business based in the West Midlands. This is a permanent, full-time position designed for a payroll professional who is confident managing the entire payroll cycle from start to finish. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring payroll accuracy, compliance with legislation, and timely processing, while also supporting broader HR functions as required. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to deepen their payroll expertise within a dynamic environment that values accuracy, compliance, and employee engagement.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess significant experience in payroll management, demonstrating a thorough understanding of payroll legislation, statutory payments, and compliance requirements. Relevant qualifications such as CIPD or payroll-specific certifications are desirable. Candidates should have proven experience working with payroll systems, handling employee and manager queries, and maintaining accurate records. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under strict deadlines are essential. Experience liaising with external payroll providers and supporting HR functions such as recruitment, onboarding, and employee record management will be advantageous. A professional approach to handling confidential information and excellent communication skills are also required.

Responsibilities
- Take ownership of the entire payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely processing each pay cycle.
- Manage payroll data, verify information, and carry out calculations including PAYE, National Insurance, and statutory payments.
- Cross-check payroll inputs from employees and managers to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Collaborate with the Company Accountant to reconcile payroll data and prepare reports for external payroll providers.
- Prepare and submit payroll reports and data for processing, ensuring compliance with legal and company standards.
- Handle payroll-related queries from employees and managers, providing clear, professional, and timely responses.
- Maintain up-to-date and accurate payroll, HR, and employee records, ensuring confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Support wider HR administration activities, including onboarding, contract preparation, and employee documentation.
- Assist with recruitment processes, including job postings, application management, and pre-employment checks.
- Support monitoring of employee attendance, absence, and other HR data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in payroll and HR processes, recommending efficiencies and best practices.
- Provide general administrative support to the HR and People teams as required, fostering a collaborative working environment.
