About The Role

Dynamite Recruitment is currently recruiting a Payroll Analyst to join an established business based in Christchurch on a permanent basis. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a dynamic finance and HR environment, supporting accurate and timely payroll delivery across multiple payrolls. The Payroll Analyst will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and maintaining high standards of data accuracy. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external providers to resolve discrepancies, prepare payroll reports, and contribute to process improvements. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with payroll data, performing reconciliations, and providing exceptional service to employees, all within a collaborative and fast-paced setting.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess previous experience in a similar payroll role, demonstrating a comprehensive understanding of UK payroll processes and statutory obligations. Strong proficiency in payroll reconciliations, variance analysis, and discrepancy resolution is essential. Candidates should have a good working knowledge of PAYE, National Insurance contributions, pensions, and statutory payments. Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS, are required to handle complex data analysis and reporting tasks. Attention to detail, accuracy, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are key qualities for success in this role. Relevant qualifications or certifications in payroll or finance will be considered advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end processing of multiple payrolls, ensuring all deadlines are met with accuracy.
  • Prepare and validate payroll changes, including checking data inputs and investigating any discrepancies or anomalies.
  • Conduct payroll reconciliations, variance checks, and comparisons to ensure data integrity.
  • Collaborate with external payroll providers to resolve queries, discrepancies, and processing issues promptly.
  • Assist with calculations related to PAYE, National Insurance, statutory payments, and pension contributions.
  • Support benefits administration and pension scheme management as required.
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate payroll records, processes, and documentation to ensure audit readiness.
  • Contribute to payroll reporting, participate in projects, and suggest process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
