Looking for a UK Payroll Analyst to join a global media business on a 9 month contract
This role sits within its centralised payroll team. Reporting into the Payroll Manager, this role will oversee accurate and timely UK payroll processing, ensure statutory compliance, and act as a key escalation point for payroll and SAP-related queries.
This role is £350 a day inside IR35 for a 9 month contract, ideally starting ASAP but able to wait up to 1 month notice. Offering hybrid working, with 2 days a week in their London office.
Key Responsibilities
- Process UK payroll accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with UK payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Coordinate payroll inputs and ensure accurate payroll journals and GL postings.
- Process BACS payments and statutory payments including SMP, SSP, SPP, and SAP.
- Investigate payroll variances and resolve employee and stakeholder queries.
- Act as an escalation point for payroll and SAP-related issues.
- Support SAP Payroll testing, upgrades, and system improvements.
- Support internal and external payroll audits.
- Maintain payroll procedures and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Support the Payroll Manager and wider UK/EMEA payroll team with projects and initiatives.

- Essential: UK in-house payroll experience and strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation.
- Strong understanding of payroll journals and how payroll feeds into financials.
- SAP Payroll/Finance experience desirable but not essential.
- Payroll qualification desirable but not essential.
- Audit experience and Workday exposure advantageous.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and numerical skills.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving abilities.
- Discreet and confident handling confidential information.
