Plymouth CAST is looking for a Payroll & HR Systems Officer to join our supportive Central HR Team!

In this key operational role, you’ll support over 1,300 employees across our family of schools, ensuring our payroll administration, employment contracts, and HR Management Information System (MIS) run seamlessly.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Payroll Administration: Managing day-to-day monthly payroll processes, pension records, and statutory submissions.
  • Employee Lifecycle & Contracts: Preparing offer letters, contracts, and contractual variations accurately.
  • Systems & Reporting: Maintaining high-quality data within our HR MIS and producing key management/workforce reports.
  • Compliance & Collaboration: Ensuring compliance with GDPR and payroll legislation while delivering excellent customer service to our schools.

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experienced in payroll administration and contract preparation.
  • Methodical and detail-oriented with strong digital/systems skills (MS Office, Google Workspace, HR/payroll software).
  • High integrity, professional, and comfortable working independently in a home-based role.
  • Bonus (not essential): Experience in education/public sector, Teachers’ Pensions, or LGPS.
