About the Role
At National Grid, we're at the heart of delivering energy to millions of people every day. Due to increased demand within our Payroll team, we're looking to recruit Two Payroll & Reward Advisors to join us on a 6-month fixed term contract.
Supporting the Assistant Payroll Manager, you'll play a key role in delivering an efficient payroll service while also supporting a range of reward-related activities. You'll work closely with Payroll Leads, HR colleagues and offshore teams to ensure payroll is processed accurately and on time, while helping employees and managers understand reward processes and policies.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with payroll experience who enjoys problem-solving, building strong relationships, and delivering a great customer experience.
What You'll Do
- Supporting the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll activities.
- Acting as a first point of contact for payroll and reward-related queries.
- Providing advice and guidance to HR teams, managers and offshore colleagues on payroll processes, policies and reward matters.
- Supporting the administration and delivery of reward activities, ensuring data accuracy and compliance.
- Building effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a seamless employee experience.
- Monitoring payroll KPIs and service metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Supporting wider Payroll and Reward projects and process enhancement initiatives.
- Escalating issues appropriately to ensure risks are managed and resolved quickly.

What You'll Need
- Proven payroll experience with a strong understanding of end-to-end payroll processes.
- Knowledge of HMRC legislation and payroll regulations.
- Experience supporting reward activities, employee benefits, salary reviews or annual reward processes.
- Understanding of reward principles and employee benefits administration.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience working to strict deadlines and managing multiple priorities.
- Good Microsoft Office skills (intermediate level or above).
- Understanding of employment law principles.
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
What You'll Get
A competitive salary between £40,000 - £44,000 per annum– dependent on capability.
As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
