Job Title: Payroll and Reward IT Product Owner

Location: UK hybrid (London, Manchester, Leeds, Milton Keynes, Bristol, Cardiff). Role is predominantly remote with travel to Deloitte office on an adhoc basis. Optional travel to Milton Keynes for in-person handover at the start of the project.

Contract Start Date: September 2026

Duration: 12 months (with potential to extend)

Day Rate: Competitive (Inside IR35)

The Role

We're looking for an experienced Payroll and Reward IT Product Owner to join Deloitte's HR Technology team. You will oversee the IT service supporting UK and Swiss Payroll and Reward processes, operations and change. You will partner with senior stakeholders on payroll and reward change initiatives. The role combines hands-on SAP payroll expertise with product ownership, service leadership and the ability to shape design decisions across a complex, integrated HR technology landscape.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Strong UK payroll experience including payroll configuration, knowledge of legislative requirements and HMRC compliance.
  • Experience of leading payroll delivery and teams within Enabling Functions of a large, complex organisation across benefits/payroll/reward and HR systems.
  • Proven product ownership or service leadership experience, including directing delivery activity and maintaining BAU operations.
  • Extensive experience of payroll products (SAP Payroll, ideally SAP ECC6, S4 Hana and newer SAP payroll products)
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to lead design discussions and advise senior stakeholders at director level.

Deliverables

Responsibilities but not limited to:

  • Lead the delivery team's activities in providing IT services for Deloitte's UK and Swiss payroll solutions, ensuring technical and legislative compliance.
  • Ensure the continued operation of Deloitte UK's benefits and pensions processes.
  • Partner on key projects (list to be finalised) to help design, implement and test Payroll or Reward changes in support of required business outcomes.
