Job Opportunity: Payroll and Pensions Team

We are looking for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and organized individual to join our busy payroll and pensions team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is keen to start a career in payroll while gaining hands-on experience and working towards a recognized payroll qualification.

You will be part of a team within the Finance department that provides a payroll and pension service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital and Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Ltd.

Responsibilities:

  • Under the supervision of the Payroll/Senior Payroll Officers you will take responsibility for your own payroll section, prioritizing and organizing your workload to meet strict deadlines.

  • Respond to pay queries from staff and managers.
  • Provide advice and support on pay-related matters to our customers, including staff members and managers across the organization.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with other internal departments and external agencies.
  • Take part in apprenticeship training and apply your learning to the workplace.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
