💼 Payroll Assistant (Part-Time)

💰 £28,000 - £32,000 pro rata

📍 Thame, Oxfordshire (Office Based)

💼 The Role

OJ Digital is recruiting on behalf of a well-established business looking to add a Payroll Assistant to its finance team.

Reporting directly to the Head of Payroll, you'll play an important role in supporting the smooth running of the payroll function, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time while maintaining accurate payroll records.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with previous payroll experience who is looking for a stable, part-time position within a friendly and supportive office environment.

🚀 Key Responsibilities

  • Support the processing of weekly and monthly payrolls.
  • Maintain accurate employee payroll records.
  • Process new starters, leavers and contractual changes.
  • Assist with statutory payments including SSP, SMP and other payroll-related calculations.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support payroll reconciliations and reporting.
  • Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and confidentially.
  • Assist the Head of Payroll with general payroll administration and continuous process improvements.

🌟 What We're Looking For

  • Previous experience working within a payroll or payroll administration role.
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent levels of accuracy.
  • Good numerical and organisational skills.
  • Confident using Microsoft Excel and payroll software.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to handle confidential information professionally.
  • A proactive, reliable and organised approach to work.
  • Experience with payroll legislation and HMRC processes would be advantageous but is not essential.
