If you love the technical precision of payroll but also want to lead a team and build real client relationships, this is your role.
You'll take ownership of a portfolio of client payrolls, solving the tricky technical problems, keeping your team accountable, and being the person clients trust when things get complicated.
What the role entails:
- Managing and delegating work across your team, keeping delivery on track and quality high
- Processing and reviewing client payrolls accurately, staying updated on the latest legislation
- Researching and resolving the genuinely tricky technical problems, ones that require real expertise
- Owning the financial and operational side of client work including budgets, scope, deadlines
- Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers and colleagues, and acting as a trusted advisor
- Spotting where processes or the team could improve, and driving those changes forward
- Identifying training needs and helping your team level up
- Getting involved in networking, marketing and client events on behalf of the business

What is required:

- A relevant professional qualification (Higher/A-Level equivalent minimum)
- Solid working knowledge of payroll legislation and best practice
- Confidence with Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
- Experience managing a client portfolio
- Staff supervision experience
- The ability to manage competing deadlines and work well under your own initiative
