Payroll Assistant – 6 Month FTC
Contract: 6-month Fixed-Term Contract
Employment Type: Full-time
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Payroll Assistant to join a busy payroll team on a 6-month fixed-term contract.
The successful candidate will support the accurate and timely processing of employee payroll, maintain payroll records, assist with reconciliations and reporting, and respond to payroll-related queries.
Previous hands-on experience using both ADP and NGUX is essential for this role. Applications without experience of both systems will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation, checking and processing of payroll data.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and update information as required.
- Process payroll changes, including starters, leavers and amendments.
- Check timesheets, overtime, absence records and other payroll information for accuracy.
- Support payroll reconciliations and investigate any discrepancies.
- Assist with the preparation of payroll reports and management information.
- Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner.
- Ensure payroll information is processed accurately and within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Support the wider payroll team with general payroll administration as required.
- Ensure processes comply with internal policies and relevant payroll legislation.

Essential Requirements
- Hands-on experience using ADP.
- Hands-on experience using NGUX.
- Previous experience in a Payroll Assistant, Payroll Administrator or similar payroll position.
- Good working knowledge of payroll processes and procedures.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience of payroll reconciliations and checking payroll data.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to work to strict payroll deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
- A proactive and organised approach to work.

About You
You will be a reliable and methodical payroll professional who is comfortable working with high volumes of information and maintaining a high level of accuracy. You will be able to manage competing deadlines, identify discrepancies and communicate confidently with employees, managers and colleagues.
Please note: Experience using both ADP and NGUX is mandatory for this position.
