Payroll Associate Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Associate to join our central Group Payroll team on a 12-month fixed-term contract.

The business is currently undertaking a significant transformation of its payroll function, including a review of payroll processes, controls, and systems. As part of this journey, the payroll team is currently operating across multiple Excel-based payroll schedules while new processes and future system solutions are being developed.

Day to Day

  • Support the payroll process across multiple business units.
  • Maintain and update payroll records using Excel spreadsheets and internal systems.
  • Process payroll-related changes including starters, leavers, contractual changes, holiday pay, absence records, and statutory payments.
  • Validate payroll data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Reconcile payroll information and investigate discrepancies.
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees, managers, and external stakeholders.
  • Produce payroll reports and management information as required.
  • Support payroll audits and compliance activities.
  • Assist with the ongoing review and improvement of payroll procedures and controls.

What will you bring?

  • Previous experience in a payroll administration or payroll support role would be advantageous
  • Strong Excel skills, including the ability to work confidently with large datasets.
  • Excellent numerical and data accuracy skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work to strict deadlines.
  • An understanding of payroll legislation and statutory payments would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information appropriately.
