Payroll Associate | Top 50 Firm | London

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end client payrolls across weekly, fortnightly, monthly, quarterly, and annual frequencies.
  • Maintain ongoing compliance with HMRC obligations, RTI submissions, and statutory reporting deadlines.
  • Administer workplace pension auto-enrolment duties, contribution reporting, and regulatory compliance.
  • Handle essential documentation including starter checklists, P45s, P60s, and year-end reconciliation tasks.
  • Operate cloud-based payroll platforms efficiently, utilising digital functionalities for real-time collaboration.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for clients, resolving queries professionally and building strong relationships.
  • Prepare client invoices and monitor receivables to support healthy financial workflows.

As a Payroll Associate you will:

  • Bring solid experience in processing client payrolls, ideally within a fast-paced bureau or practice environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong, up-to-date working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and auto-enrolment rules.
  • Exhibit proficiency in modern payroll software, with experience using Paycircle or similar cloud platforms preferred.
  • Combine exceptional attention to detail with strong organisational and numerical skills.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external authorities such as HMRC.
  • Hold or be actively working towards a professional qualification such as CIPP (preferred).
