As the UK operation becomes more efficient, your remit will expand to include overseas payrolls, working with local providers. Some international populations are small, offering a manageable starting point for building your knowledge.

What you will be doing

• Running the monthly UK payroll through ADP, including manual inputs, checks, reconciliations and statutory reporting.
• Verifying payroll calculations independently, investigating discrepancies and resolving errors confidently.
• Managing commission and variable payments alongside Finance and relevant business stakeholders.
• Administering pensions and supporting queries involving high earners, contribution limits and tapered annual allowances, with specialist advice where needed.
• Managing private medical insurance and other employee benefits, including membership changes, deductions and taxable benefit calculations.
• Calculating benefit values accurately where renewal dates and employee joining dates differ from the tax year.
• Providing a responsive payroll service and explaining pay, tax and benefits clearly to employees.
• Improving processes and reporting, contributing to wider HR systems changes and developing into international payroll coordination.

What we are looking for

• Practical ADP payroll experience, which is essential.
• Strong experience delivering UK payroll directly, with ownership of reconciliation and accuracy.
• Confidence working with manual processes and checking the underlying calculations.
• Experience with pensions, taxable benefits and benefits administration.
• Familiarity with higher earners and complex or variable remuneration.
• Strong Excel skills, attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• A friendly, approachable manner and the confidence to engage with employees and senior colleagues.

Experience of system changes or process improvement would be useful. Previous international payroll or financial services experience is not essential.
