Payroll Clerk – 12 Month Fixed Term Contract

Whether you’re reassuring a worried pet owner, answering an important question or making sure the right information reaches the right team, you’ll play an important part in supporting pet owners when they need us most.
As a Payroll Clerk you will provide support as required to the Payroll Team, adding value to the team through performing all payroll and admin related duties pro-actively, efficiently and timeously.
Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities:
- Dealing with email queries
- Pension and HMRC submissions,
- Month end journals including reconciling Total Cost to nominal link,
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintaining and updating employee payroll records
- Liaising with People Services to ensure correct employee data
- Dealing with aspects of manual adhoc monthly sheet
- Preparation of all reports for both permanent staff and locums from HR Portal
- Processing calculations for new starts, changes, leavers, etc
- Provide payroll support to the Payroll Team
- Perform ad hoc payroll duties as and when required.
- Knowledge of current payroll and statutory legislation

Experience/Qualifications:
- Previous payroll experience essential (Sage payroll desirable)
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (strong working knowledge of excel and word)
- Excellent numerical skills, and adaptability to learning new skills
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work on own initiative, as well as being highly team orientated
- Dedicated and conscientious with great attention to detail
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Positive approach to all aspects of payroll related work
- Thrives in a fast-paced environment
