About The Role

We are currently seeking a highly organized and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our client’s team in the West Midlands, specifically in the Birmingham area. Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing within a high-volume environment
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems related to payroll management
  • Up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines in a fast-paced setting
  • Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Relevant payroll or accounting certifications are advantageous but not mandatory

Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the Payroll Clerk include:

  • Accurately processing payroll for a large number of employees within specified deadlines
  • Maintaining comprehensive and up-to-date employee payroll records
  • Managing all payroll changes such as new starters, leavers, and amendments
  • Responding promptly to payroll-related queries from employees, providing clear and accurate information
  • Assisting with payroll reporting, reconciliation, and audit processes
  • Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies efficiently and effectively
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant payroll legislation and company policies
  • Collaborating with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations
