About The Role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Clerk to join our client’s team in the West Midlands, specifically in the Birmingham area. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a payroll professional to manage high-volume payroll processing in a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing end-to-end payroll functions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness in all payroll activities. You will play a vital role in maintaining employee satisfaction by providing reliable payroll services and resolving any payroll-related issues promptly. This position requires a proactive approach, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work efficiently under tight deadlines.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess proven experience in managing large-scale payroll processes, ideally within a fast-paced setting. You should have a comprehensive understanding of payroll legislation and familiarity with ERP systems. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will interact with employees and management to resolve payroll queries effectively. Candidates must demonstrate attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to prioritize tasks to meet strict deadlines. Relevant certifications or training in payroll administration will be considered an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process payroll for a high volume of employees within established deadlines, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and company policies.
- Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality at all times.
- Manage all payroll changes, including new starters, leavers, salary adjustments, and other modifications.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from employees, providing clear and accurate information.
- Assist with payroll reporting, including generating reports and performing reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
- Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll operations and compliance with organizational policies.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and process improvements.
