About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Payroll Clerk to join our client’s dynamic team in the West Midlands, specifically in the Birmingham area. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a solid background in high-volume payroll processing. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of payroll services. Qualifications

  • Proven experience in processing large payrolls from start to finish, demonstrating proficiency in ERP systems.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current payroll legislation and compliance standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and employees.
  • Prior experience working in high-volume payroll environments is highly desirable.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working under tight deadlines.
  • Availability for immediate or short-notice start is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process payroll for a large employee base within established deadlines, ensuring timely salary payments.
  • Maintain and update employee payroll records, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Manage all payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, salary adjustments, and other amendments.
  • Address and resolve payroll-related queries from employees promptly and professionally.
  • Assist in payroll reporting, reconciliation, and audits to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies efficiently, implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure seamless payroll processing and data accuracy.
  • Stay informed about legislative changes affecting payroll processing and ensure ongoing compliance.
