Our client is a well-established international business with a strong heritage and reputation for excellence within its sector. Operating across a diverse international landscape, they are recognised for their commitment to quality, continuous improvement and investing in their people. Due to ongoing growth within their payroll function, they are now seeking an experienced Payroll Clerk to join their team based in North Lanarkshire.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and supportive payroll department where you will play a key role in ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time. The position offers a varied workload, exposure to international payroll activities and the opportunity to work closely with both HR and Finance teams.

The successful candidate will thrive in a fast-paced environment and be passionate about delivering an efficient, accurate and professional payroll service.

Role Profile

Working as part of an established payroll team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of accurate and compliant payroll services. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing end-to-end monthly payrolls in line with company deadlines and statutory requirements
  • Preparing payroll reports, reconciliations and supporting documentation
  • Providing payroll information and data to support international payroll activity
  • Supporting month-end payroll reconciliations and reporting requirements
  • Maintaining compliance with current payroll legislation and company procedures
  • Assisting with payroll projects, system improvements and process enhancements

Person Specification

The successful candidate will bring previous payroll experience together with a strong understanding of payroll processes and legislation. You will also demonstrate:

  • Previous experience in a Payroll Administrator, Payroll Officer or similar position
  • Strong working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and statutory deductions
  • Experience processing end-to-end payrolls within a busy environment
  • Strong Excel skills, including reporting and reconciliations
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Experience supporting international payrolls would be advantageous
