What you would do as our Payroll Compliance Specialist

Reporting to the Head of Finance UK, you will act as the internal payroll compliance and technical payroll specialist for ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions, while supporting wider GS UK entities on payroll governance and compliance matters. Working closely with HR, Finance, ADP and external advisors, you will support the accurate and compliant delivery of UK payroll activities through hands-on payroll support, technical review, reconciliations, controls and payroll compliance oversight. Local HR teams will continue to manage employee lifecycle administration and core payroll inputs, while the Payroll Compliance Specialist provides payroll review, technical support and compliance oversight throughout the payroll cycle.

You would also be responsable for: • Acting as the primary payroll compliance contact for GS UK entities and liaising with ADP to manage payroll processing, technical queries, issue resolution and escalations. • Reviewing and validating payroll inputs and changes from HR, including starters, leavers, salary adjustments, commissions, benefits, pensions, statutory payments and terminations, while processing select technical adjustments in ADP. • Ensuring accurate payroll treatment and compliance with PAYE, NIC, pensions, benefits and HMRC requirements, including monitoring submissions and supporting audits and compliance reviews. • Supporting and strengthening payroll controls through reconciliations, payroll journals, variance analysis, cut-off governance and post-payroll reviews in collaboration with Finance. • Driving and supporting payroll compliance initiatives and projects (including PSA, ERS, IR35, shadow payroll), process improvements, international payroll requirements, and onboarding of new GS UK entities while partnering with HR, Finance and external advisors.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
