Payroll Transformation Specialist
3-6 Month FTC | £50,000-£60,000 FTE | Hybrid, London

A large, multi-site hospitality business is seeking a hands-on Payroll Transformation Specialist to support a major payroll systems transformation programme.

You'll combine strong operational payroll experience with systems implementation expertise, helping transition payroll processes from Fourth to a new payroll software.

The Role

  • Support a payroll migration and systems transformation programme.
  • Reconcile parallel payroll runs and investigate variances between systems.
  • Identify root causes, recommend solutions and support their implementation.
  • Support UAT, including documenting test results, defects and resolutions.
  • Provide hands-on payroll cover during annual leave and busy project periods.
  • Support the transition of expense processes, including Concur-related workflows.
  • Work with Payroll, Finance, HR/People and external system providers.
  • Maintain robust controls, reconciliation records and audit trails while ensuring BAU payroll continues effectively.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience in a high-volume, complex environment.
  • Previous payroll transformation, implementation or migration experience.
  • Strong practical experience using Fourth.
  • Experience of payroll reconciliation, parallel runs and data validation.
  • Confident analysing large data sets and resolving payroll anomalies.
  • UAT experience, including test evidence and defect management.
  • Comfortable balancing project activity with hands-on payroll processing.
  • Able to work independently and engage effectively with multiple stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience with Concur.
  • Hospitality, retail or similarly complex multi-site workforce experience.
  • Exposure to rota-driven, hourly paid payrolls, statutory payments and expense processes.

Package

  • 3-6 month FTC, with potential to extend.
  • £50,000-£60,000 FTE, dependent on experience.
  • Hybrid working in London.
  • Start ASAP.
