Payroll & Finance Administrator
Reading | Permanent | £32,000 - £36,000 + 25 days holiday + pension
Fully office based - free parking available
Are you an experienced Payroll professional looking for a role where you can use your payroll skills while also getting involved in wider finance administration? We're working with a successful multi-site business based in Reading (with offices around the UK) who are looking for a Payroll & Finance Administrator to join their team on a permanent basis.
The role
You'll take ownership of the day-to-day payroll process across multiple sites, while also supporting the wider finance team with a range of administrative duties.
Key responsibilities include:
- Processing monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Managing payroll queries from employees and site teams
- Maintaining payroll records and ensuring data is kept up to date
- Supporting starters, leavers, changes and holiday calculations
- Dealing with HMRC, pensions and other payroll-related requirements
- Assisting with finance administration and general accounts duties
- Supporting reconciliations, invoices and finance queries
- Working closely with HR, Finance and operational teams across multiple locations
- Helping to improve and streamline payroll and finance processes

About you
- Previous experience in payroll, ideally within a multi-site environment
- Good understanding of payroll legislation and statutory requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Comfortable working with Excel and payroll systems
- Organised, reliable and able to manage deadlines
- Happy to get involved in both payroll and wider finance administration
- A positive, hands-on approach and good communication skills
- Preference for SAGE Payroll and Sage 50 is ideal but full training will be given

Desired Skills and Experience
- Experience in UK Payroll is essential - preferably from a small company environment where you can also assist with additional finance admin duties to assist the Financial Controller.
