Your new company
You will be joining an established organisation based in Hull. Due to business requirements, they are looking to appoint a Payroll & Finance Assistant on an initial six-month temporary contract.
Working Hours:
- Monday - Thursday: 8:30am - 5:00pm
- Friday: 8:30am - 2:00pm
Location: Fully Office Based
Tools: Sage 50 & Excel
Start Date: You must be available to start WC 21.09.26
Your new role
Reporting to the Financial Controller, you will provide comprehensive support across payroll administration and transactional finance.
Responsibilities:
- Processing weekly timesheets and supporting the payroll administration for approximately 60 to 70 employees
- Payroll is outsourced
- Recording employee absences and managing holiday requests
- Responding to payroll-related queries
- Recording weekly working hours for SHEQ purposes
- Processing purchase invoices, credit notes and subcontractor invoices
- Raising purchase orders for equipment hire
- Raising weekly sales invoices across three contracts
- Posting bank and credit card statements
- Completing monthly bank reconciliations
- Processing monthly employee expenses
- Posting cash receipts and payroll journals

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this position, you should have previous experience within payroll administration, finance administration or a similar transactional role.
You will need to be comfortable processing financial information accurately, handling employee queries and working to weekly and monthly deadlines. Sage 50 & Excel experience preferred Strong attention to detail, good organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload will be important.
