Adjacency Recruitment are delighted to be partnering with one of Cheltenham’s most iconic businesses in the recruitment of a Payroll & Finance Operations Manager.
The successful candidate will join our client at an exciting period of change and growth and will have responsibility for payroll governance, core finance operations, system transformation and team management.
Reporting into the Director of Finance this role takes ownership of the payroll function whilst leading a small, well established finance operations team and also has the responsibility of leading the payroll aspect of the ongoing implementation of a new HR platform ensuring a smooth and successful transition.

Key Responsibilities include:
- Act as the business lead for payroll legislation, controls and best practice.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately, efficiently and in full compliance with all regulatory requirements
- Manage day-to-day finance operations and a team of 4
- Oversee VAT returns and manage cash management and banking processes
- Support the Financial Accountant with month end processes
- Provide coaching & mentoring to your team to support individual development
- Allocate workloads, manage priorities and promote wellbeing across the team.
Key Requirements:
- Management of payroll with accountability for accuracy and compliance
- Strong understanding of payroll legislation, pensions and statutory obligations
- Proven experience of leading operational finance activities
- Delivered systems implementations, process improvements or transformation projects
