Payroll & HR Administration Apprentice
Uniserve is seeking a Payroll & HR Administration Apprentice to support the Payroll and HR function by assisting in the accurate and timely administration of payroll processes and employee records, while developing knowledge of key HR practices and compliance requirements.
The apprentice will provide administrative support across payroll and HR activities, maintain data accuracy, respond to employee queries, and contribute to effective processes. This role offers the opportunity to gain practical experience, build professional skills, and develop a strong foundation in payroll, HR systems, and employment legislation, whilst completing an apprentice course.
Apprentice course name: Payroll Administrator Level 3
Shift: Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.30
Location: Upminster
Key accountabilities:
- Assisting with the monthly and weekly payrolls (including international payroll) where necessary
- Support the maintenance of employee and payroll records
- Ensure all data entered onto the HR system is accurate, complete, and compliant with company policies.
- Providing first line support for HR & Payroll services via telephone and email to employees
- Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including preparing contracts, letters, and documentation.
- Build knowledge of payroll legislation, HR policies, and best practices.

Skills & Experience:

- Maths GCSE - 4 or above
- English GCSE - 4 or above
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisation and time management skills
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Ability to handle confidential information professionally
- Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook
- Strong administrative and data entry skills
- Ability to prioritise workloads and meet deadlines
- Team player with a proactive and positive attitude
- Willingness to learn HR, payroll and employment legislation
