About the Role
This is a newly created Payroll & HR Specialist role, offering ownership of payroll operations and core people processes across the business. You'll be responsible for ensuring accurate payroll delivery, maintaining employee data and compliance, and supporting the full employee lifecycle.

The role combines hands-on operational responsibilities with process improvement projects, making it ideal for someone who enjoys driving efficiencies and enhancing the employee experience within a growing organisation.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end monthly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery across multiple business entities
- Administer pensions, benefits, salary sacrifice schemes, and statutory payroll requirements
- Act as the key point of contact for payroll providers and internal stakeholders
- Oversee employee lifecycle administration, including contracts, onboarding, right-to-work checks, probation monitoring, employee changes, and offboarding
- Maintain accurate HR records and ensure compliance with employment legislation and internal policies
- Own and enhance HR systems, reporting capabilities, and people data accuracy
- Support business growth and integration projects, including process harmonisation and system improvements
- Line manage and support a People Operations Administrator while acting as an escalation point for complex queries
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, scalability, and employee experience

Experience & Skills
- Proven experience managing UK payroll end-to-end, including statutory payments, pensions, and payroll compliance
- Strong HR administration or People Operations experience with exposure to the full employee lifecycle
- Experience using HRIS and payroll systems, with strong Excel and data management skills
- Demonstrable process improvement and systems enhancement experience
- Previous experience supervising or mentoring junior team members is advantageous
- Experience within a multi-site, acquisitive, or fast-paced environment would be beneficial
- Excellent attention to detail, stakeholder management, and communication skills
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism
