About The Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to join our dynamic team based in Wembley. This is a full-time, office-based position that offers an excellent opportunity for a professional looking to take the next step in their payroll career. As Payroll Manager, you will oversee the end-to-end payroll process for a large volume of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timeliness. You will manage a team of payroll staff, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure smooth operations. The role requires a proactive individual with strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to resolve complex payroll issues efficiently.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in payroll management, preferably within a fast-paced environment. A comprehensive understanding of UK payroll legislation, statutory deductions, and HMRC submissions is essential. Relevant qualifications such as a Payroll Management Certification or equivalent are highly desirable. Strong leadership and communication skills are vital, along with proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite. Candidates should demonstrate a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and problem-solving capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete payroll process for a high volume of weekly and monthly payrolls, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Administer all statutory deductions, including SMP, SPP, SSP, National Insurance, and PAYE, in compliance with current legislation.
- Handle HMRC submissions accurately and on time, including Real Time Information (RTI) reports.
- Oversee all year-end activities, such as preparing P60s, P11Ds, and other statutory reports.
- Address and resolve escalated payroll queries from employees or management promptly and professionally.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the payroll team through regular one-to-one meetings, performance appraisals, and training sessions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, industry best practices, and technological advancements.
- Collaborate with HR and finance departments to ensure seamless payroll operations and data accuracy.
- Implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce errors within the payroll cycle.
