Payroll Manager
PE Backed FinTech
Interim – initial 4-6 months
Central London – 2-3 days in the office p/w
c£400 p/d (outside IR35)
I’m partnering with a high-growth FinTech that’s looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to join on an initial 4–6 month contract.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys being hands-on with payroll, taking ownership of the full process and working across multiple countries and stakeholders.
The role:
You’ll be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of UK and international payroll, providing critical cover during a period of growth and change.
You’ll also have the opportunity to improve and document existing processes, work closely with payroll providers and help ensure the wider team has a clear and consistent approach to payroll and benefits.

What you’ll be doing:
- Managing end-to-end UK payroll
- Supporting international payroll across Europe
- Working with external payroll providers and managing supplier relationships
- Ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time
- Handling payroll queries and resolving issues
- Supporting benefits and year-end payroll activity
- Ensuring payroll processes are compliant and well documented
- Reviewing and improving processes where needed
- Working closely with People, Reward and Finance stakeholders

What we’re looking for:
- Strong, hands-on UK payroll experience
- Workday experience is essential
- International payroll (ideally Europe) highly desirable
- Confident working with payroll data, spreadsheets and multiple systems
- Strong attention to detail and a real focus on payroll accuracy
- Comfortable managing external payroll providers
- Able to work independently and hit the ground running
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
