THE ROLE & TEAM

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Payroll Manager to take ownership of our end-to-end payroll function. This is a standalone role, offering the opportunity to manage payroll processes independently while working closely with colleagues across Finance, HR and the wider business.

As Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of payroll across the business. Working as part of our Finance team, you will act as the subject matter expert for all payroll-related matters and ensure payroll operations run smoothly and compliantly.

Whether you're looking for a full-time position or a part-time opportunity, we'd welcome applications from experienced payroll professionals who can confidently manage a standalone payroll function and provide a high-quality service to the business.

Agencies: We are not accepting CVs for this role as we are aiming to fill it directly. We value your support and will reach out if required. Please do not send speculative CVs. Any unsolicited CVs sent to hiring managers or the business, without prior instruction from a member of the Talent Acquisition team, will be treated as a gift.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage the end-to-end monthly payroll process, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on time.
  • Maintain payroll records and employee data, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime and statutory payments.
  • Administer pension contributions and ensure compliance with auto-enrolment requirements.
  • Manage payroll year-end activities, including P60s and other statutory reporting requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations and payroll legislation.
  • Liaise with HMRC, pension providers and other external stakeholders as required.
  • Reconcile payroll reports and support finance month-end processes.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and managers in a professional and timely manner.
  • Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes and controls.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
