Job Title: Payroll Manager
Salary: Up to £42,000

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity for an experienced payroll professional to take ownership of a multi-payroll function within a busy and established environment.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring payrolls are delivered accurately and on time, while overseeing the wider payroll process, supporting the team and ensuring the business remains fully compliant with current legislation and tax requirements.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong technical payroll knowledge who enjoys working across multiple deadlines, supporting colleagues and maintaining high standards of accuracy and service.

Key Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the end-to-end delivery of multiple payrolls.
• Ensure all payrolls are processed accurately and within strict deadlines.
• Manage a range of payroll processes including statutory payments, Directors’ NI, BACS submissions, CIS, pensions and auto-enrolment.
• Manage Benefits in Kind (PBIK) and ensure relevant tax requirements are correctly applied.
• Complete manual payroll calculations and investigate any discrepancies or payroll issues.
• Manage payroll year-end activities and ensure all statutory requirements are met.
• Keep up to date with changes to payroll legislation, taxation and statutory obligations.
• Supervise payroll team members, allocate work and review completed payrolls for accuracy.
• Provide guidance and support to the wider payroll team where required.
• Manage competing priorities and multiple payroll deadlines effectively.
• Maintain strong payroll controls, processes and documentation.
