Role: Group Payroll Manager (International)
Location: London (Hybrid, c.3 days/week in office)
Salary: IRO £90,000 + strong annual discretionary bonus
Middlemore have been retained by a global organisation which owns an international portfolio of companies operating across various markets in the financial and professional services sectors, to recruit a strategic Group Head of Payroll (International).
The Group Head of Payroll will own the end-to-end payroll function, comprising c.10 payrolls across the UK and internationally for 1,000 colleagues. The role will be responsible for managing and developing a small in-house team and spearheading the strategy for the payroll offering – ensuring processes are fully optimised, the global offering is streamlined and supported by appropriate technology, and that the payroll strategy ensures a seamless level of service for a growing, international organisation.

This role goes far beyond processing oversight, as you'll spearhead a critical project consolidating multiple in-country providers into a single global payroll system. You’ll also be encouraged to “find and fix” processes, exploring new ways of working and really positioning Payroll as a strategic, enabling function.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversight of all UK and overseas payrolls
- Year-end responsibilities, including P11D and payrolling benefits
- Administration of UK benefit schemes
- Pension compliance and auto-enrolment management
- System upgrade testing
- Reporting

What We're Looking For
- Extensive end-to-end UK and international payroll experience
- A strategic thinker; someone who can link the Payroll strategy with the growth strategy of the organisation
- A focus on continuous improvement and demonstrable experience of improving and optimising payroll processes
- ResourceLink and/or ADP experience (preferable)
- Excellent Excel skills
- Confident stakeholder management across geographies
- Prior formal management experience not essential if capability is demonstrated
- Able and willing to work in London 3+ days per week
