Payroll Administrator
12 Month FTC
We’re looking for an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a busy payroll team, taking responsibility for a portfolio of client payrolls from start to finish.
This is a hands-on position where you’ll manage the day-to-day processing of multiple payrolls, work directly with clients and ensure everything is delivered accurately, compliantly and within agreed deadlines.
The role
You’ll be responsible for:
- Managing end-to-end payroll processing across a portfolio of clients
- Processing starters, leavers, P45s and other payroll amendments
- Maintaining accurate payroll records and employee data
- Calculating statutory payments including SSP, SMP and deductions such as DEAs
- Processing tax codes, pension contributions and other statutory deductions
- Producing and checking payroll reports
- Ensuring third-party payments are completed accurately and on time
- Supporting year-end payroll processes
- Liaising with HMRC and other relevant bodies when required
- Acting as a day-to-day contact for clients and resolving payroll queries
- Providing supporting payroll documentation where required
- Maintaining a high level of accuracy, compliance and client service
- Supporting the wider payroll team during busy periods
- Identifying opportunities to improve payroll processes and ways of working

What we’re looking for
You’ll ideally have previous experience working within payroll and be comfortable managing deadlines in a busy environment.
You’ll also bring:
- Good knowledge of UK payroll processes and statutory requirements
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Confidence communicating directly with clients
- The ability to manage multiple payrolls and competing deadlines
- Strong organisational and communication skills
- A discreet and professional approach when handling sensitive information
- The ability to adapt to changing priorities
- A positive, team-focused attitude
