Job Title: Payroll Manager

Location: Liverpool
Salary: Up to £52,000
Hybrid: 2/3 days in the office
Permanent: Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Payroll Manager to join a leading professional services organisation with a strong national presence. This is a fantastic opportunity to lead payroll operations, manage a high-performing team, and play a key role in delivering an exceptional payroll service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process for clients, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the payroll team to achieve high performance.
  • Ensure payrolls are processed in line with HMRC legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and clients.
  • Resolve complex payroll queries and provide expert payroll guidance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, reviewing processes and implementing efficiencies.
  • Ensure service levels and deadlines are consistently achieved.

Requirements

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll operations within a payroll bureau.
  • Previous people management or team leadership experience.
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation, HMRC requirements, pensions, and statutory payments.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
