Interim Payroll Manager

Duration: 4 Months
Start Date: ASAP
Rate: Inside IR35
Location: Hampshire - Hybrid/Flexible

The Opportunity

An organisation is seeking an experienced Interim Payroll Manager to join their fast-moving team. This is a hands-on role with a strong focus on payroll operations, payroll systems, and ensuring the accurate delivery of payroll.

The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders across Finance and People functions to ensure payroll data is accurate, compliant, and delivered on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end payroll process using Dayforce.
  • Ensure all payroll data is accurately collected, reviewed, and submitted within agreed deadlines.
  • Partner with Finance and People teams to validate payroll inputs and resolve discrepancies.
  • Oversee payroll-related reporting and reconciliations.
  • Support the administration and integration of employee benefits through the Benifex rewards platform.
  • Manage payroll submissions, troubleshooting any technical issues that arise.
  • Ensure compliance with payroll legislation, internal controls, and company policies.
  • Act as the key point of contact for payroll queries and issue resolution.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be a technically strong payroll professional who can quickly adapt to a new environment and operate with minimal supervision.

Essential Experience

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll.
  • Strong working knowledge of Dayforce or similar payroll systems.
  • Experience handling payroll transactions, reconciliations, and data validation.
  • Ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders across HR/People and Finance functions.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to payroll accuracy.
  • Experience resolving payroll system and file transfer issues.
