Interim Payroll & Reward Manager (12 months)

London | Hybrid (2 London days)
Up to £56,000 (would also consider a 4 day week)

I’m recruiting for an experienced Payroll & Reward Manager to join a well-established, people-focused organisation in London.

This is a broad and highly visible role sitting within HR Operations, taking ownership of payroll, reward, benefits and associated HR data and reporting. It would suit someone who combines strong technical payroll and reward knowledge with an analytical mindset and enjoys improving processes, systems and the employee experience.

You’ll oversee an outsourced monthly payroll, acting as the key point of contact for the payroll provider and ensuring accurate, timely and compliant delivery. Alongside payroll, you’ll manage the annual pay and bonus cycle, pensions and employee benefits, and provide meaningful analysis and reporting to HR, Finance, senior leadership and Board-level stakeholders.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

We’re looking for someone with strong experience across payroll and total reward, including managing outsourced payroll and third-party suppliers. You’ll be highly numerate and analytical, comfortable working with complex data in Excel, and able to translate that data into useful insights for a range of stakeholders.

Experience using Workday would be particularly valuable, as would a CIPP or relevant HR qualification, although these are not essential.

This is a great opportunity for someone who wants genuine ownership of the payroll and reward agenda while still being part of a collaborative wider HR function.
