Payroll Manager – London | Hybrid

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the delivery of payroll and pension services for a workforce of approximately 2,600 employees within the organization.

You will manage the end-to-end payroll function, lead and develop the payroll team, oversee Oracle Payroll, HMRC/statutory reporting, BACS payments, reconciliations, deductions, salary sacrifice, overpayments and year-end activities including P60s and P11Ds.

The role also requires strong knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation and pensions, including Local Government and/or Teachers' Pension Schemes, together with experience of payroll service improvement, automation and transformation.

Key requirements:

  • Significant end-to-end payroll management experience
  • Oracle Payroll or comparable enterprise payroll system experience
  • Strong HMRC, PAYE, taxation and statutory compliance knowledge
  • Experience managing and developing payroll teams
  • Knowledge of LGPS and/or Teachers' Pension schemes
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience delivering payroll improvements/change initiatives
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • CIPP qualification desirable, or equivalent extensive experience
  • Local/Central Government or complex public-sector experience desirable
