Hybrid Working (onsite initially close to Northampton)
Loom Talent are delighted to be partnering with a well-established organisation in Northamptonshire to recruit a Payroll Coordinator on a permanent basis.
Joining a small and busy team, this is a varied role covering both day to day payroll and additional projects. You'll play an important part in making sure payroll data is accurate and ready for processing, whilst also supporting a range of generalist HR activity.
This would suit someone who enjoys working with numbers and data, has a great eye for detail and is confident working independently in a role where there's plenty to get involved in.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

What we're looking for
We're looking for someone with previous experience in a payroll, HR, reward or similar coordination role. You don't need to be an expert across every area, but you'll need to be comfortable working with data, confident using Excel and have a genuine eye for detail.
Just as importantly, you'll be someone who is naturally inquisitive, uses their initiative and is happy working autonomously. This is a small team, so someone who can get stuck in, ask questions, understand the bigger picture and use their common sense will fit well.
“It took my CV and asked me questions relevant to understanding what kind of jobs to suggest for me. Suggestions were almost perfect. Jobs were exactly what I’ve been looking for.”
