About the Role

This Payroll Officer role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely delivery of payroll, managing employee payroll records, processing payroll changes, and ensuring compliance with HMRC and pension regulations. You'll work closely with Finance, HR and employees across the business, providing payroll support, resolving queries, and contributing to ongoing process improvements within a professional services environment.

Description

  • Process payroll for employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Maintain payroll records and update employee details as needed.
  • Handle payroll queries and resolve discrepancies promptly.
  • Calculate deductions, benefits, and other payroll-related adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Stay updated on changes in payroll legislation and implement necessary adjustments.
  • Prepare payroll reports for management review.
  • Assist with year-end payroll activities, including tax filings.

Profile

A Successful Payroll Officer Should Have

  • Experience in payroll processing within a business services environment.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll systems and relevant regulations.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity.
  • Proficiency in accounting and finance software.
  • Effective communication skills to liaise with internal teams and employees.
