PAYROLL OFFICER

Benham Conway & Co Chartered Accountants is located in the Kelvingrove Park area of Glasgow. We specialise in the arts, film and TV sectors and are currently recruiting for a part-time payroll officer to join our talented and welcoming team.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processing payroll for a large portfolio of clients on a weekly and monthly basis using Sage Payroll and ensuring all deadlines are met
  • Dealing with all RTI reports to HMRC including FPS and EPS submissions
  • Administering various workplace pension schemes including auto enrolment duties and pension uploads
  • Responding to payroll and pension queries from clients, HMRC and pension providers in a professional and timely manner
  • Processing and reviewing payroll calculations, including PAYE, National Insurance contributions, student loans, statutory payments, pensions and other payroll deductions
  • Processing all year end payroll requirements, including P11Ds

Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience preferably using Sage Payroll within a payroll bureau or CA environment
  • Strong computer literacy specifically Microsoft Excel
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
  • Personable, warm and confident personality
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to liaise with clients effectively

Working hours:

  • Minimum 21 hours with flexible core hours between 8am and 6pm
