Pertemps is currently recruiting on behalf of a well-known and established company based in South Lanarkshire for an experienced Payroll Officer to join their finance team on an immediate and permanent basis. This is a fully office-based position.
Reporting directly to the Management Accountant, this is a varied opportunity combining responsibility for payroll processing and purchase ledger administration. The successful candidate will ideally have previous experience across both payroll and accounts payable, with knowledge of the COINS ERP system highly advantageous.
Key Responsibilities
- Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and within strict deadlines.
- Administer starters, leavers, holidays, sickness and statutory payments.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and employee information.
- Ensure payroll processes comply with HMRC legislation and relevant regulations.
- Process pension contributions and associated payroll administration.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and management.
- Assist with payroll reconciliations and reporting.
- Support purchase ledger and accounts payable activities as required.

Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in both payroll and purchase ledger/accounts payable.
- Experience using COINS ERP would be highly advantageous.
- Good understanding of payroll processes and HMRC requirements.
- Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
- Competent user of Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
