Payroll Professional

Location: Beverley
Job Type: Permanent, Full-time
Salary: £35,000–£40,000

We are looking for an experienced Payroll Professional to join a well-established and supportive accountancy practice in Beverley.

You will manage payroll processes from start to finish for a varied portfolio of clients, ranging from straightforward monthly payrolls to more complex requirements. This is an opportunity to take ownership of your work, build lasting client relationships and continue developing your payroll expertise.

Your Role

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Processing weekly, fortnightly, four-weekly and monthly client payrolls
  • Managing both straightforward and complex payroll requirements
  • Assisting with the setup and onboarding of new payroll clients
  • Maintaining accurate employee and payroll records
  • Processing statutory payments, including SSP, SMP and SPP
  • Managing RTI submissions, P45s and auto-enrolment pension requirements
  • Supporting Construction Industry Scheme requirements where applicable
  • Preparing payroll reports and management information for clients
  • Responding to client queries and providing a professional, helpful service
  • Building strong working relationships with clients and colleagues
  • Ensuring payrolls are completed accurately and within agreed deadlines

Who We’re Looking For

You will ideally have at least two years’ experience within a payroll environment and be confident managing payroll processes from start to finish.

You will also bring:

  • A proven background in payroll administration and reporting
  • Good working knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processes
  • An understanding of RTI, SSP, SMP, SPP, P45s and auto-enrolment pensions
  • Experience using payroll software, ideally Sage, BrightPay and Xero
  • Strong customer-service and client relationship skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing deadlines
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn and develop
