Project Manager, Payroll & Workforce Management

Location: Midlands or Southern England – hybrid working

Salary: £60-90K + Bonus

We are supporting a leading global professional services organisation looking to appoint a Project Manager within its growing Payroll & Workforce Management advisory practice.

This is not a traditional payroll operations role. You’ll lead complex transformation and technology projects for large UK and global organisations, working across payroll, HR and workforce management.

You’ll manage projects from initial scoping through to delivery, owning project plans, governance, budgets, risks and stakeholder communication while leading multidisciplinary teams across multiple locations.

We are looking for:

  • Experience managing large-scale, complex transformation or technology projects
  • A strong understanding of payroll, workforce management or HR technology
  • Experience working with large, high-headcount organisations
  • Confidence managing senior stakeholders, third-party vendors and distributed teams
  • Dayforce or UKG experience would be advantageous, but experience with other payroll, HR or WFM platforms will also be considered
  • Consulting experience is useful but not essential

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
