We're looking for two new experienced Payroll Specialists to join our finance team and help deliver an accurate, compliant and person-centred payroll service for approximately 1,800 colleagues.
Reporting to our Payroll Lead, you'll take responsibility for the end-to-end monthly payroll process for allocated services and act as a trusted payroll contact for operational managers and stakeholders.
These roles can be based in our Glasgow, Dundee or Aberdeen office, or part of our hybrid working model where a minimum of 2 days per week would be spent in one of these office locations.
What You'll Do
- Deliver end-to-end monthly payroll for allocated services, ensuring accurate and timely payments and deductions
- Act as a main payroll contact for managers and stakeholders
- Check payroll input is complete, accurate, authorised and submitted on time
- Resolve payroll queries clearly and escalate more complex issues when required
- Support statutory returns, payslips, P45s, P60s, pensions, reconciliations and month-end activity
- Use payroll audit findings to strengthen controls, improve data quality and reduce recurring issues

Experience Required
- Experience delivering a comprehensive, compliant payroll and pension service
- Up-to-date knowledge of PAYE, RTI and NIC, with experience of retrospective pay calculations
- Strong numerical skills and meticulous attention to detail
- Advanced Excel skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and learning new systems
- Excellent organisation, customer service, communication and relationship-building skills
- A degree, CIPP/IPPM equivalent qualification or extensive experience in a comparable role
- Excellent knowledge of PAYE, RTI and NIC and current payroll legislation
- Experience delivering a comprehensive, compliant payroll and pension service
Desirable Experience
- Working in a large and complex organisation
- Pensions and auto-enrolment
- Experience of using Access Select Pay
