About The Role
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to join our client's team based in Oxford. This role is pivotal in supporting the accounting and finance department within a professional services firm. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll processes, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations, and maintaining accurate payroll records. This position offers an excellent opportunity to work within a close-knit, supportive environment that values accuracy, confidentiality, and excellent communication skills.
Qualifications
- Proven experience managing payroll processes within a professional services or similar setting.
- Proficiency with payroll software and systems.
- Strong understanding of payroll regulations, tax legislation, and auto-enrolment requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information professionally.
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, employees, and team members.
- Relevant qualifications or certifications in payroll or finance are advantageous.

Responsibilities
- Manage the entire payroll cycle for clients, including salary calculations, deductions, and benefits administration.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant payroll laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Process employee payments accurately and timely, including bonuses, benefits, and deductions.
- Maintain comprehensive payroll records and generate reports for internal and external stakeholders.
- Respond promptly to payroll-related queries from clients and employees, providing clear and professional support.
- Assist with pension contributions, auto-enrolment, and related regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate closely with the accounting team to ensure seamless financial operations and reporting.
- Stay informed about updates and changes in payroll legislation and best practices to ensure ongoing compliance.
