About The Role

A fantastic opportunity has arisen to join Portfolio Payroll Limited as a Payroll Senior Specialist. In this pivotal role, you will take full ownership of the UK payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely payroll operations for the organization. You will be responsible for managing end-to-end payroll activities, including data collation, validation, and record maintenance. The role requires a proactive approach to resolving employee queries, supporting payroll projects, and ensuring compliance with HMRC reporting requirements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to streamline payroll processes and enhance overall efficiency. Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in payroll management, preferably within a similar industry or environment. A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in UK payroll processing is essential. Relevant qualifications such as the CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) certification are highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate excellent attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple priorities effectively. Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are crucial for supporting employee queries and collaborating with team members. Familiarity with payroll software systems and HRIS platforms is advantageous. A solid understanding of HMRC regulations and compliance standards is necessary to ensure accurate reporting and adherence to legal requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Full processing and ownership of the UK payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments to employees.
  • Collating, checking, and validating payroll data from various sources to ensure data integrity.
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records, including employee details, salary changes, and statutory deductions.
  • Producing all payroll-related reports required for management, audits, and compliance purposes.
  • Managing all year-end activities, including P60s, P11Ds, and other statutory documentation.
  • Supporting employees with payroll-related queries, providing clear and professional assistance.
  • Leading on payroll-related projects aimed at improving processes, systems, and compliance.
  • Ensuring HMRC monthly and annual reporting obligations are met accurately and on time.
  • Staying updated with legislative changes affecting payroll and implementing necessary adjustments.
