About The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated Payroll Specialist to join our client's dynamic team in Tiverton. This temporary-to-permanent role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong background in payroll processing to contribute to a growing organization. Working closely with the Payroll Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for over 700 employees. You will play a vital role in maintaining the integrity of payroll data, managing pension schemes, and supporting audit activities to uphold compliance standards. The role requires a detail-oriented professional with excellent organizational skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess relevant experience and skills, including:
- Proven hands-on experience in internal payroll processing, ideally within a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in standard office software, including MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data handling.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills to effectively address employee queries.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
- Availability to start on short notice or immediately is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pension administration and auto-enrollment processes is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities
The Payroll Specialist will be responsible for a variety of tasks to ensure seamless payroll operations, including:
- Supporting the end-to-end processing of monthly payrolls, ensuring all employee payments are accurate and completed on time.
- Handling workplace pension schemes, including auto-enrollment and employee pension queries.
- Conducting routine payroll audits to verify data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Updating and maintaining employee records within payroll systems to reflect changes in employment status, pay rates, or personal details.
- Ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and internal procedures.
- Responding promptly to employee inquiries regarding payroll and benefits.
- Assisting with the preparation of payroll reports and documentation for audits and management reviews.
- Collaborating with HR and finance teams to resolve payroll-related issues efficiently.
