Payroll Specialist (3-Month FTC)

Our client is seeking an experienced Payroll Specialist to join their team on a 3-month fixed-term contract. This is an excellent opportunity for a payroll professional who can confidently manage end-to-end payroll operations while supporting process improvements within a busy and fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and process monthly and lunar payrolls for approximately 700 employees
  • Process starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, overtime, pensions, deductions, and family leave arrangements
  • Handle payroll queries and provide support to internal stakeholders
  • Support payroll compliance, reconciliations, controls, and audit requirements
  • Prepare payroll-related reporting, including support with P11Ds and PAYE Settlement Agreements (PSAs)
  • Review existing payroll processes and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Support ongoing payroll projects and process improvement initiatives

Key Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end monthly payrolls
  • Experience processing high-volume payrolls in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, compliance, and best practice
  • Experience using payroll systems such as Cintra Payroll and Sage HR
  • Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, and SUMIFs
  • Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and make process improvement recommendations

This is a 3-month fixed-term contract paying £25-£30 per hour on a self-employed basis. Weekly or bi-weekly office attendance in Hatfield is required.
