Looking for your next step in payroll?

This could be a great opportunity to step into a role where you'll have genuine ownership, visibility, and the chance to make a real impact.

This is a hands-on, standalone payroll position where you'll take ownership of the mid-month payroll for around 630 colleagues, working closely with the Payroll Manager, People Team, Finance, and external payroll partners. You'll be the go-to person for payroll queries, calculations, pensions, legislative changes, TUPE, and out-of-cycle payments, while also having the freedom to improve processes, strengthen controls, and get involved in wider payroll projects.

It's particularly suited to someone who has built solid end-to-end payroll experience and is now looking for more responsibility and autonomy - without stepping into a rigid or overly corporate environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

Only hits

No noise. No "maybe this fits." Just roles with a clear explanation of why they're right — and where to focus when applying.

Why join?

  • The office is busy, warm, and genuinely people-focused, with a friendly team environment where people know each other and enjoy working together.
  • You'll be based in the Manchester city centre office 4 days a week, with 1 day working from home, giving you that balance between being part of a collaborative team and having flexibility in your week.
  • The wider business is very focused on employee experience and making benefits work around the individual, rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
  • Alongside a strong benefits package, there are plenty of incentives and opportunities to get involved in the wider culture of the business.
  • This isn't a role where you'll simply be processing payroll every month and ticking boxes. You'll have the opportunity to take ownership, influence how things are done, and become the person people go to for payroll expertise.

What are they looking for?

You'll ideally have:

  • Strong end-to-end payroll experience
  • A good understanding of UK payroll legislation and TUPE
  • Confidence handling payroll queries and advising managers and colleagues
  • Strong Excel / Google Sheets skills
  • A proactive, analytical, and customer-focused approach
