Payroll Specialist – Tuckers Solicitors | London

Location: London
Working pattern: 3 days per week, office-based
Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

Tuckers Solicitors is looking for an experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team on a part-time basis, working 3 days per week from our London office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys taking ownership of payroll and wants to become a key part of the finance function within a growing national law firm.

The role

You will take responsibility for the accurate and timely processing of payroll, ensuring employees are paid correctly and that all payroll obligations are managed effectively. We are particularly looking for someone with hands-on experience using Moorepay, as this is an essential requirement for the role.

Key responsibilities

  • Managing the monthly payroll process from start to finish
  • Processing new starters, leavers and employee changes
  • Managing statutory payments, deductions and benefits
  • Ensuring PAYE, National Insurance and pension requirements are dealt with accurately
  • Producing payroll reports and reconciliations
  • Responding to payroll queries from employees and managers
  • Maintaining accurate payroll records
  • Working closely with HR and Finance
  • Ensuring payroll deadlines and compliance requirements are consistently met
  • Identifying and resolving payroll discrepancies

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Proven experience in a payroll role
  • Practical, recent experience using Moorepay – essential
  • Strong knowledge of UK payroll legislation and processes
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to work independently and take ownership
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Experience working with HR and Finance teams
  • A professional and confidential approach to handling sensitive information
