Payroll Compliance Specialist (Europe)

Initial 2-Month Contract | Fully Remote | Competitive Day Rate | Inside IR35

A global organisation is seeking an experienced Payroll Compliance Specialist to join a critical payroll assurance project. This is an opportunity for a payroll professional with strong compliance and audit expertise to review payroll practices across multiple European countries and ensure adherence to local legislation, policies, and contractual requirements.

This role is focused on payroll compliance, governance, and risk assessment rather than day-to-day payroll processing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed payroll compliance reviews across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Assess payroll calculations to ensure compliance with statutory regulations, collective agreements, and company policies.
  • Perform payroll audits, sample testing, and validation exercises.
  • Identify compliance risks, control gaps, and potential financial exposures.
  • Review payroll processes and system outputs to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance.
  • Produce findings, recommendations, and reports for key stakeholders.
  • Support remediation activities and process improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with payroll, HR, finance, and project teams throughout the review process.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
